The Greatest Car Chase Scene Of All Time

Children please tell me that you have seen Bullitt starring the legendary Mr. Steve McQueen.  Okay, okay ya it was made in 1968 and I am sure that if you were born some time after 1980 you would have no clue about this movie and or why it is famous.  For those of you that have never seen or heard of this movie lemme clue you in on some insight as to why this movie is so famous.  Every car chase that was ever made after this movie was modeled directly after it.  The car chase scene in this movie set the precedence for the modern car chase that we know today.  There’s one thing; it was performed with “real” cars (no cg-ing here) and the actors were actually behind the wheel.  This was a time when men were men and their naturally aspirated muscle cars dominated the roadways.

Still have not got your attention.  Okay did I mention that our hero Bullitt is driving a dark “highland green” 1968 Ford Mustang 390 CID Fastback and the two hit men he is chasing are driving a “tuxedo black” 1968 Dodge Charger R/T 440 Magnum.

Are your juices flowing.  Ya mine too.  Now grab your popcorn snake and lets make some butter together.

At 3:22 is when the PEDAL HITS THE METAL!

Now check this site out.  Some guy went to the trouble of GPS mapping the exact route the cars are taking in San Francisco.  So you get to watch the video and try to watch the GPS route at the same time.  Kudos man, very cool.
